In my opinion, a good song must be with good lyrics. When I listen to a song, I think lyrics are very important.This is one of my favorite lyrics:

Louis Armstrong – What A Wonderful World

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
But they're really saying I love you.

I hear baby's cry, and I watched them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.
Yes, I think to myself what a wonderful world.

You Raise Me Up

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up... To more than I can be.

I like the lyrics very much. Who else likes the lyrics?

I hear "You Raise Me Up" every time I impersonate a priest and perform a Japanese hotel wedding. I never liked that song anyway, and now I despise it.

Mavis Hee--Sunshine After the Rain

Life is full of happiness and sorrow
I'd like to share with you
Drawbacks and expectations are inevitabe
Just face it with bravery
who would want to hide in a peaceful dock?
I would rather have disturbing freedom
Wish you can find the way guided by the lighthouse
which will clearly lead you through the fog
For sunshine always appear after storm
The clear sky will be above the clouds
Treasure all the moving moments
The hope is just in your hand
For sunshine always appear after storm,
believe that there must be the rainbow please.
Be calm and accept all the sorrows and unhappiness
I'll always be right around you

Life is full of happiness and sorrow
I'd like to share with you
Drawbacks and expectations are inevitabe
Just face it with bravery
who would want to hide in a peaceful dock?
I would rather have disturbing freedom
Wish you can find the way guided by the lighthouse,

I often heard this song when I was a student. I really like the lyrics of this song, especially when I hear that sunshine always appear after storm, I was encouraged and I felt life with hopes. Every time when I meet difficulties in my life, I will sing this song to encourage myself. Whatever happens, please believe that sunshine always appear after storm. So I share this song with you. When you meet difficulties in your life, may this song help you! Sunshine always appear after storm, and please believe that there must be the rainbow. Do you know the true reason why the rainbow appears after storm?

If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.
If the mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.

I personally think this guy is a lyrical genius.

Gregory Alan Isakov - The Universe

The Universe, she's wounded
She's got bruises on her feet
I sat down like I always did,
And tried to calm her down

I sent her my warmth and my silence
And all she sends me back is rain... rain

The Universe, she's wounded
But she's still got infinity ahead of her
She's still got you and me
And everybody says that she's beautiful

The Universe, she's dancing now
They got her lit up, lit up on the moon
They got stars doing cartwheels, all the nebulas on the tune
And the Universe, she's whispering so softly I can hear all
The croaking insects, all the taxicabs, all the bum's spent change
All the boys playing ball in the alleyways
They're just folds in her dress

The Universe, she's wounded
But she's still got infinity ahead of her
She's still got you and me
And everybody says that she's beautiful
And everybody says...

Chris Isaak - Wicked Game

The world was on fire and no one could save me but you
It's strange what desire will make foolish people do
I'd never dreamed that I'd meet somebody like you
And I'd never dreamed that I'd lose somebody like you

No I don't want to fall in love (this girl is only gonna break your heart)
No I don't want to fall in love (this girl is only gonna break your heart)
With you
With you (this girl is only gonna break your heart)

What a wicked game you played to make me feel this way
What a wicked thing to do to let me dream of you
What a wicked thing to say you never felt this way
What a wicked thing to do to make me dream of you

Nobody loves no one

Daughn Gibson - "A Young Girl's World"

I saw him, underneath the neon lights of a corner bar,
Cryin' like a child
So I asked him,
"What's 'a matter?"
And he said,
"I'm just an old man in a young girl's world."

I wish there was another way
Of getting downtown
Don't say I didn't warn you
There's nothing like an grown man crying
He's drunk in his sadness
Outside the bar at 5th and High
You can't look him in the eyes, darlin',
When you pass him by

Stone Sour - Absolute Zero

The bloody angle/ the symmetry- your cheap adhesive isn't holding me
My mouth is a gun I can shoot- I can show you the truth
And I don’t need a reason to lie to you
No pun intended/ no punishment- if I offended you, you needed it
Ideas are the bombs in your mind- a fissure in time
If you don’t have a weapon, you can’t have mine

I can bleed if I want to bleed- I can fail if I feel the need
This face is my last confession- this life… it feels like a prison

Oh, I’m not afraid- I’m giving into grievances again
You’re looking at an absolute zero
I’m not the devil, but I won’t be your hero

The catatonic/ the sacrilege- your prima donnas are a privilege
My god has a need to react- it’s as simple as that
It’s better just to settle than face the facts

One thing that I can’t stand is when the minutes fight the second hand
I’ll waste a lifetime’s worth just to cling to one more day
No ****ing quarter/ no premiums- the world is stuck in delirium
Man is a four-letter word- it’s really absurd
The hate isn't fake it’s just inferred

Oh, I’m not afraid- I’m giving into grievances again
I’m down to absolute zero- another zealot with the weight of the ****ing world
Oh, I’m not afraid- and I will let you down as I hold you in
You’re looking at an absolute zero
I’m not the devil, but I won’t be your hero

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-27-2016 09:49 AM

Bloodbath released a classic song that I can relate to lyrically on spiritual level.

I've had one desire since I was born
To see my body ripped and torn
To see my flesh devoured before my eyes
I'm here for you, I volunteer as a human sacrifice

Carve me up, slice me apart
Suck my guts and lick my heart
Chop me up, I like to be hurt
Drink my marrow and blood for dessert
EATEN...
My one desire, my only wish is to be-
EATEN...
The longer I live the more I'm dying to feel the pain
EATEN...
I would do anything to be-
EATEN...
My one desire, my only wish is to be-
EATEN...

I finally found you, my personal slaughter
As an appetizer,I let you taste my daughter
Call me sick but this is what I need
My only purpose here is for you to feed

[Chorus]
Carve me up, slice me apart
Suck my guts and lick my heart
Chop me up, I like to be hurt
Drink my marrow and blood for dessert
EATEN...
My one desire, my only wish is to be-
EATEN...
The longer I live the more I'm dying to feel the pain
EATEN...
I would do anything to be-
EATEN...
My one desire, my only wish is to be-
EATEN...

Desecrate me
Tear me limb from limb
Eviscerate me
Chew me to death

EATEN...
My one desire, my only wish is to be-
EATEN...
The longer I live the more I'm dying to feel the pain
EATEN...
I would do anything to be-
EATEN...
My one desire, my only wish is to be-
EATEN...

Wow, I've never read such good lyrics written by an angsty eighth grader.

Billy Woods - The Man Who Would Be King

Facing existential threats, my advice, kill ‘em dead
No regrets, the devil’s rejects
Writ large. Observe the precepts of a benevolent god
Blue-eyed Prometheans in the heart of darkness.
Land of the monsters. Walk like Quetzalcoatl amongst the conquered
Dick hard. Put myself in the stars
This woman in the dirt, face down, ass up, doing God’s work
Go native, the world is yours. (It’s mine, it’s mine, it’s mine)
The sound of Maxim guns still sends a chill up my spine
Empire of the Sun never sets, a Christian’s duty is never done
You can bet on significant returns to all shareholders
King Solomon's mines, just give me a hundred experienced soldiers
The knowledge of good and evil, sweet nothings whispered by cobras
Useless baubles given to greedy chiefs
Lies told with the practiced ease of an old thief
When they hung the poor nigga, I felt a certain relief

Take up your burden, the savage wars of peace;
Fill full the mouth of famine and bid the sickness cease;
And when your goal is nearest, the end for others sought
Watch sloth and heathen folly bring all your hopes to nought

Gold ill-gotten with guts and gleaming Martini-Henry Guns
With that holy trinity, who can argue my divinity under two red suns
Return like Kipling’s dead son, summoned by monkey paw
A thousand Philistines slain with a donkey’s jaw
Gave them the rule of law, schools, roles, jobs, clothes and shod
Still, they fled to the land of Nod
Eden’s East, upon his brow mark of the Beast
Empire fat like a cow slaughtered for the feast
The stink of a jackal’s teeth
The gears of war get greased, ground ‘em down to raw meat
Whites of the eyes, limpet mines
An Apartheid of the mind, Brittania’s corpse exhumed
Hangnail still growing, Dr. Livingston I presume
Blood river still flowing
The forest inexorably growing as Kinshasa crumbles
The dreams of Romans drowned out by Nyiragongo's rumble

Take up your burden, the savage wars of peace;
Fill full the mouth of famine and bid the sickness cease;
And when your goal is nearest, the end for others sought
Watch sloth and heathen folly bring all your hopes to nought
