How do I get Ideas for music.

I am having a lot of trouble getting ideas for songs. That includes melodies, chords, basslines, hell, even rhythm. I don't really know how to get any ideas. I try to think of something but I can't seem to be getting any ideas. Especially for the genres I wish to do which are Nu Disco, French House, House, and just Electronic in general. I do not write lyrics. Could you guys help me out here?

Practice. Drugs. Listening to music that you want to emulate. Try out the bad ideas even and work them around, you never know when that will be a pathway to something that you never ever would have thought of initially. In the long run, practicing is the most important so that you can bring ideas to life.

Don't start off by restricting yourself to notions of particular subgenres. Just play around and see what happens.

I like to turn on the radio and tune it to any local hip hop station and try my best to write down the raps word for word and then I vapor them and just like that I have all these women

By hearing music, check the news once a while, read or listen to stories from people, did you experience some interesting events in your live ? , and the list goes on,inspiration is everywhere you just need to look at world with the artistic mind that you got if you believe that you have one.

Write songs every day. You can set your daily goal - 15min. Believe that practice makes you perfect. When you write every day, gradually your writing skills get better. This is one of the most obvious, yet effective songwriting tips one can ad here. Keep writing without giving any verdict about the output, no matter how bad the writing.

Lots of electronic genres are more about production than composition.
You should learn to be good at that.
Good mixing and interesting sounds are essential for house and such stuff.
Oftentimes finding a cool sound for a melody, beat or bassline can be the starting point that leads to a whole song in a surprisingly easy and fast way.

I often find reading in general produces ideas for me. Gets you in the emotions if you cannot produce the inspiration at the time and seems to summon up the beginning of an idea for me.
