Really talented, shame about her personal life being in shambles though. I hope she sorts herself out.

Yeah, I do understand that point but this is a case where I think some of the things going on in her personal life could dictate her future career, so it's not just a view at her as a person, but also about her future in the music business. Of course, at the end of the day the most important thing for me is the music because that's why I listen to her, but I wouldn't wish what she's going through on anyone - especially the constant attention from the media.

I'd say your description was wider of the mark than the location of this thread.
Tells me you know nothing of this artist.

Well, she first entered the scene a few years ago as a fresh young singer without a true image, she was a bit chubbier too. What she was doing wasn't truly original and she didn't garner much attention, then she re-appeared somehow as a anorexic black "soul" singer. Her heavily doctored album was released to quite a lot of buzz and she's riding the media attention she's been getting ever since. From live performances it's pretty obvious she's quite talentless and from the style of music it's very obvious she has about as much to do with blues as the colour pink.

Sinatra's style was incredibly pop, but he had the voice to boot, he also employed class musicians which helped him immensely in establishing himself as a Jazz and Swing singer.
