Drumless Funk/Soul/Disco?
 

Hey guys, do you know of any Funk/Soul/Disco records that contain no drums? Obviously drums are vital for any groove, so I am interested in hearing how it sounds when absent from a track. :)

Is there very little material such as this then?

I've never heard of such a thing, and honestly, I'm really curious, too. Sorry I'm not helpful, but I'd like to be! Has to count for something.

For some reason "Papa Was A Rollin Stone" immediately came to mind.

The long intro of the song for sure doesn't have any drums. I just started listening to it right now, but it's an 11 minute song and I can't remember if any drums kick in later in the song.

Idk if the Temptations have other songs like it, but that's the song I thought of.
