So one of the funkiest things I listen to....is a really funky jazz...jam session? I don't know if it is a jam session however it is a funky sound all found on a...Ska compilation album?

Yeah a fantastic Third wave American Ska compilation album opens up with a funky jazz track. So I suggest looking up Fat Albert (Jimmy Smith Remix) on youtube.

One of my favorite funk guys has always been Rick James, who loved to call his music "punk funk"....most people know him from Super Freak, but his early albums are spot on funk and a blast to crank up loud.....

Very underrated funkster. Does NOT get the acknowledgement he deserves (at least for his music).
