Took my young siblings to go see Madagascar 3 today. That was a mistake.

Because THIS DAMN SONG played in the middle, and at the end. And it has not left my head since. It's was playing after. It was playing at lunch. It was playing all night at work. And now I am sitting here listening to jazz and it IS STILL PLAYING IN MY HEAD. I need some death metal to get rid of this, I think.

I liked these two depressing songs, especially the first, that I noticed while watching the vampire love saga, "New Moon":

Grizzly Bear with Victoria Legrand - "Slow Life"
(I mentioned this song in another post, but I like it enough to mention twice)

"Possibility" by Lykke Li
Lykke Li's voice half-annoys me, but the line, "There's a possibility that all I had was all I gon get," is a great one, because eventually this isn't just a possibility...it is the hard truth, and one we all have to face sooner or later.

I mean, hey, even immortal vampires can die when they get their heads and arms ripped off, transforming them into broken statues. Oh cruel, cruel vampire world!!!

Possibility - Lykke Li (lyrics) - YouTube

^ This reminds me that a couple days ago I was discussing with my child what would happen if one were an immortal human and unable to be injured or need food to survive.

We concluded that after the Sun expands, consuming the earth and eventually turning into a dead star, we'd end up just floating around in space for eternity, if we didn't move anywhere. We decided that we'd spend that time slowly puffing out thin space "air" to propel ourselves to the nearest inhabited planet. It would be boring, a trillion years of puffing through space like that, but we'd have all the time we'd need.

This is one reason that it is better to die than to be immortal.

Latika's Theme -- from Slumdog Millionaire

A relaxing piece from a compelling movie.

The song's humming reminds me of the way we often hum absentmindedly while daydreaming and doing some activity like washing dishes or taking a walk.

Yea True Blood scene music is mostly rockabilly blues. Not anything too great but can understand how it appeals to the audience.

I like the show either way.
