Swimmers?

I've swam on the high school team all three years I've been in high school, and the club team on and off.

I think its great exercise (three hours a day - 1 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon) and most chicks dig the swimmer body (not that I have one - too many cokes after practice ;))

Does anyone else on MB swim?

My 7 year old son swims and he's doing well.
He's up to 200 metres on his back.
Best all round exercise activity you can do.

YES!
I've been swiming for greater part of my life and It's pretty much the only sport I'm good at :/

I'm in between clubs at the moment, due to coaching problems. I haven't been to the pool in ages..

I've always been a poor swimmer because I could never properly master the breathing component of freestyle. No matter how I do or don't blow out of my nose, water always goes up it.

But I'm pretty good at backstroke... there's no breathing technique involved there and I seemed to pick it up straight away as I could easily maintain a straight line with decent speed.

Heck yeah - backstroke is my favorite!
Its funny because around here, all the pools are 25 yards, but we have a 25 meter pool at our school, so when we go to other schools the pools are literally shorter. Depending on the race length its actually not that big of a difference (except for the 500 yard freestyle - when we swim it at our meter pool we only do 400 meters), but it really helps mentally.

I try to swim every day during the summer. It's truly the best exercise that you can do. It works out every muscle in your body, and it's also so much fun.

The diving boards are also so much fun. I've been told to join a diving team, but I've had no formal training in my entire life, so that was very flattering for me.

how do you get a swimmer's body without swimming?
