Well, if they put some real talent around him they might be 2021 contenders. But, yeah, I don't see him as a long term franchise QB invstment.

Certainly wouldn't hurt. But after watching last season's games, Newton is at best a backup QB. If the Patriots manage to snag Jimmy G from the Niners, they damn well better have a reliable backup QB.
