Oh yeah, I love table tennis. It's so much fun

I won a tourny we had in the Navy...200 bucks! Im more of a defensive player though which isnt good when yo get into higher skill levels. Instead of spikes I like to use cuts.

@Thrice : I am a total opposite of you then. I play very aggresively what is not really good in situations when I need to stay calm and just to spin very much in defence

We have an incredibly old and warped table that you have to squeeze past to get upstairs.

I'd hesitate to say I'm good, but as far as bumblies go I can hold my own. Generally I'm more of a defensive player.

Also, I never play backhand shots, I just twist my forehand around. It's less awkward than it sounds and I can't break the habbit.

Are u serious? I love to play backhand although I play a little to agressive in my backhand :D In my forehand I play much more with spin but still as agressive as possible!
Which material are u guys using? Or which brand do you prefer?

we still call it "ping pong" here

i used to play it a lot

i play it the professional way - with my index finger locked on the handle, and not all my fingers gripping it

Thats how I play too. God I love ping pong. I played all the time when I lived with my parents. My brother and I are both really good. I'm pretty good at placing it, mainly back hand. My favorite shot is when the ball is to my right but I use the backhand anyways and angle it so I go cross court barely over the net and hit the edge of the table. My brother slams every single shot backhand so I got really good at defense.

I joined a ping pong club thing up here and nobody else joined lol, so i never got to play which was really dissapointing.

i'm pretty good at "slamming" the thing and also "spinning" the ball so it gets unpredictable

My backhand slams usually go long. And I can't get much force behind them. My brother takes his finger off off the upper handle for backhands and gets so much power but i just cant do it. My slams are almost always forehand but I'm good at it. Do you use a pretty heavily padded paddle? Or those thin wooden ones?
