I understand that Thales has a world class ground game. But Silva is no slouch there either, he has great jiu jitsu as well. His long limbs are always a danger if you're in his guard. He can put you in a triangle, or use his legs to roll you and arm bar. Im really excited for the fight though.

yea man, pretty bunk fights. The stout - wiman fight was entertaining and kongo put on a clinic but it was kinda unimpressive.

Cant believe the same thing happened to Lidell eh? Crazy!
Main event was awful, I missed the chick fights, but sounds like they were better.

I really dont know whether that'll be his last fight or not. He seemed really let down after the fight. He's putting in the effort to train harder than he has before, but I think he knows he just doesnt have it anymore and he's gonna accept that.

Its horrible. He is not washed up! He is a great fighter, but the time must come. Brett Favre comes to mind immediately. How can one give up there love when they cannot physically compete anymore. I think Dana should give him a few more easy fights then send him on his way on a good note, not like this.

The fact is that Liddell is getting old.
He'll have to quit sometime soon.

EDGE 04-19-2009 04:28 PM

I think Liddell should retire. He had a great career. he's 1-4 in his last 5 and 3 of them were KO's. He won the title, defended it 4 times and beat a who's-who list of opponents. Every fighter wants to go out on top and hopefully with a belt but sometimes you just need to realize when your time has come.
