Horseback Riding

I love riding a cross-country course. My horse just loves to gallop through it. I also like just trail-riding.

savannah 06-14-2009 03:52 PM

what are you riddin? i grew up with arabs, and most rode english and dressage

dieamerikanerin 06-14-2009 04:04 PM

My horse is a Morgan Arabian cross, but ive been riding my sis horse which is a quarter horse and he lives to run too, but he doesnt really like 2 jump.

Izzy 06-21-2009 09:17 PM

I do jumpers and sometimes hunters.

Double X 06-21-2009 09:29 PM

I like pleasure riding

cavanherk 06-22-2009 02:33 PM

My parents go ga-ga for a month-long camp/trail ride excursion...

dieamerikanerin 06-22-2009 06:39 PM

That would be so much fun. We have a family reunion coming up in Colorado so i'll be spending a lot of time at the horse ranch nearby. I've been riding for about 11 years so i should be able to help out in exchange for being able to ride the horses. *fingers crossed*

I've only been riding once, but I have to say I really enjoyed it. A girl I dated in high school had a large property and her parents had two horses, however the relationship didn't last too long so I never got to capitalize on riding or becoming a trophy boyfriend.

This and your sig has to be the most epic thing that ever happened on the internet if it was unintentional.

My family always has people coming over to ride and my nieces and nephews love it when I let them ride with me even the youngest who is two.

it's a small world, my gran breeds arabs. i'm more of a coldblood fan myself, love the spanishes too

i ride purely recreationally (english), never been a competative person. i love jumping, games or just hacking out. i only have basic experience of cross country but the university i'm going to has a course so i'm gonna learn there. yay!

Neigh-Sayer 06-20-2012 09:58 PM

I voted for trail riding, but I really love any kind of horseback riding. Or just horses, in general. I don't have one currently, but I did when I was younger, and one of my short-term goals is to get another. Long-term, my dream is to open my own horse facility where people are taught to ride and care for hoses. They're also one of the biggest reasons I'm going back to school to become a vet.

I should stop now, because I could seriously geek out about horses all night.

Blades&Chains 01-06-2014 05:42 PM

Definitely a jumper so it was cross country and show jumping for me :)
Unfortunately my own horse hasn't begun jumping yet and she's only a baby and is still being broken but I can't wait until she does! Want her to love it as much as her Daddy does!

I took up horse riding since I was last active. Does anyone else have horses or have any interest?

I’d have my own in a heart beat if it wasn’t so bloody expensive :(

The Batlord 02-08-2022 04:08 PM

Wtf where did all these bougie horse people come from?

FETCHER. 02-09-2022 03:11 PM

Horse riding is probably only considered boujie because it’s expensive as ****. It’s not a glamorous hobby/sport

The Batlord 02-09-2022 03:55 PM

I mean it's essentially Xtreme Chair Sitting.

Virginia

Me and my sister did horse riding for a bit as kids. It doesn't have to be expensive at all if you don't get your own; in my experience some farmers who have horses are happy to let you go horseriding for free if you help care for them a little.

also it's not xtreme chair sitting Charles ffs, these people develop killer abs

The Batlord 02-09-2022 05:05 PM

How does that counter my point?

Marie Monday 02-10-2022 01:43 AM

Strictly speaking it doesn't

The Batlord 02-10-2022 03:14 AM

I know it doesn't.

Janszoon 02-10-2022 09:19 PM

Bottom line: it’s not expensive if you use a sawhorse.

Trollheart 02-11-2022 05:16 AM

Hey Jansz! Welcome back! How ya been? :)

Kind of mad but you have a point.

Yesss, I don’t know many horsey people but my friend has moved to a new yard where they buy and sell horses so I hopefully can go over and get to ride for free or in exchange for some yard work.
