that's one of the korean bikes right? like, a 600 cc i think?
it would be cool if you would write a little about it. i have seen them at the annual bike show but never rode one. it appears to be a cool little entry level bike. how long have you had yours?

Personally those bikes are a little to small for the average guy to learn on. Sure its great at first but once you get the hang of it your ready for another bike.

well, i can't argue with that. i learned on a 650 v-star and by the time i had a year in, it was ready for a back tire and i was ready for a bigger bike.

650 isn't to bad though. I mean depending on your size at least. Its a lot more powerful than the 650 single cylinder Suzuki I had.

What do you ride now? (still the bus :)?

cheezyridr 07-11-2009 03:09 PM

yes, still doing the ttc thing because i'm not allowed to work yet. i had the LC1500, and had the vs800. i liked them both for different reasons.
i am hoping for my next bike to get something more touring oriented.
a used goldwing would be nice but i don't know if my ankle can handle that anymore. i want to try something other than a v-twin. maybe the smaller honda, the sport tour one (i forget what the model designation is)
maybe a yamaha royal star? i never understood why they didn't use the v-max motor for that instead of the detuned 4 they did give it.

oh, and i totally agree, the 650 v-star is more power than the thumper zuk. the v-star was a great bike for what it was. it just wasn't enough bike for me, because i used it for my primary transport. puttin around toronto it would do just fine though.

What size are you looking for?

it needs to be at least 1000cc's because i want to go back and fourth from toronto to wilmington with my wife. something with a low seat height because my right ankle can't do a tip-toe position anymore. if i don't get a goldwing or a valk it'll prolly be a venture or a nomad. i like the st1300 but i don't think i'm tall enough, and the wife wouldn't go for that riding position. not for 600 miles all at once, anyhow.

Suzuki Intruder 1400 is pretty nice. Got plenty of power and good for "not so tall" people :)

cheezyridr 07-17-2009 01:47 PM

the 1400 intruder is an awesome bike! i would love to have one as my primary scoot. i had an 800, with the 21" wheel and i loved it.
trouble is, i wouldn't want to do a 500 mile day with either one.
i did get to do about 100 miles of freeway on one when i came back from the dragon several years ago. great bike, but not really a hiway star. more of a backroad brawler.
there was a company making long springer and girder front ends for them, but i forget who they are now.
