Best was probably sydney rice, or even bills defense, Byrd had like 8 picks in 3 games, but you gotta know to play them only when they face a good team.

I was able to pick up Broncos D/ST, Kyle Orton, Pierre Thomas, and Heath Miller off of waviers.

I've added Cincy D, Ray Rice, Rashard Mendenhall, Steve Smith (NYG), and now Jamaal Charles- who is, we'll see.

That brings me to a question- who to start?!

I'm starting:
Ray Rice vs. Indy

I need 1 out of these:
Matt Forte vs. Philly
Rashard Mendenhall @ Kansas City
Steve Slaton vs. Tennessee (probably not till he's reestablished)
Jamaal Charles vs. Pitt (no)

I grabbed Charles too after Johnson got the boot, but then dropped him the next week, didnt have room. Man its tough because the opponents, and it seems like with Forte you gotta kinda hope he does well.

Should I start Ravens D vs IND or Pack D vs SF...
Also, Carlson @ min or Keller @ NE

im not sure. sometimes i opt to not start a defense if i dont get a favorable matchup. i usually grab a new defense(depending on matchup) if the one i already have isnt stellar.

pourmeanother 11-22-2009 05:02 PM

Welp, went with Mendenhall over Forte as the Chicago back has a propensity for vanishing against any above average defense. Of course, Charles comes out of the woodwork and does the best of any of my backs- that's what I get for writing him off. Anyway, another frustrating week: I am outscoring every team in the league by at least 20, except my opponent! Kurt Warner being knocked out did me in. Now I'm down by 20 (110-130), and it's all on the foot of David Akers. Haha! Maybe he can pull off a game like Rob Bironas circa 2007, 8-fer-8 on FGs. I'll have to bank on it.

Well I've clinched a victory this week, kncoking out the #1 in my division (Thrice) and improving to 5-6, now if I can just string together a set of back to back wins (something I haven't accomplished all season), I will have a shot at the playoffs.

Thanks man, I have had this alternating thing going on all season. I win one, then lose one every week it seems. If I win next week I'm back in the hunt.

debaserr 11-25-2009 08:12 PM

How many points are you guys averaging? I'm at:
10-0-1 W/L/T
106.8pts / week
3 worst weeks: 75, 80, 86
3 best weeks: 131, 126, 124

That pretty much sums it up right there.

pourmeanother 11-30-2009 09:16 PM

If Welker gets 15 yards or less from here on out, I win. If he gets 16 yards, I lose. This wouldn't be an issue if yahoo hadn't stated that Warner would most likely start- 10 points and some change from Cassel and I'm a little more clear. Right now I'm the highest scoring team without having a starting QB. That's frustrating, if I lose again.

Thrice 12-01-2009 05:13 PM

Damn I tied my opponent at 103, then for some reason they took 2 points from my defense and gave me a loss :(

defenses are so lame. unless you get really lucky you are bound to have a couple negative games each year. i often wont start any if i dont have a good matchup.

Maybe they changed the official stats for the game, fantasy points are based upon unofficial statistics and not actually final until the following saturday. I'm guessing that the NFL took away a sack from them or something of the sort after the fact and that it turn lowered your score.

Thrice 12-06-2009 10:20 PM

I need advice, im down by 6 points and he has donald driver. I have Pack D and Ravens D, last week Pack d got me 22 point.

Zarko 12-06-2009 11:17 PM

Need Rice and Mason to absolutely explode for different leagues. ala 45 points for Rice, 45 for Jennings too, and then 100 yards anda TD for Mason.

pourmeanother 12-06-2009 11:54 PM

I looked at a bunch of numbers trying to find a concrete answer for you, Thrice, but I couldn't make a choice... It's supposed to be like 20 degrees with wind chill and snowing at Lambeau, so I have a feeling defense is going to do work. Gut says Green Bay, but that's not saying much.

I'll be pulling for Jennings, but I only need 7.1 points out of him. I put Cassel in because I thought Warner wouldn't start. That's 3 points from my QB, with 23 on the bench. I still have a shot at winning- which would be two weeks in a row where I won and scored the most points basically WITHOUT A QB! (Last week I had Warner in, who didn't play).

Thanks thats who I got in as of now, so thats who Ill leave, thats killer youre tearing it up. Im in second in my div, and this is my make or break game for playoffs, and its looking like a break.

Thrice 12-08-2009 01:18 AM

damn went with pack d which was a good choice, but still lost by one point.

I hate when that happens, nothing pisses me off more than losing by one point.

When do our playoffs start? Do you know?

pourmeanother 12-08-2009 12:00 PM

Jennings caught a 13 yard pass late, so I won by 0.44 points (no typo :))

No, but unless im mistaken, it looked as if it was the top 4 seeds, not the top 2 in each division. Go to projected playoff bracket and it appears as if the other (GAY) division has 3 of the 4 people. I think its soon though, and I think this past week was pretty critical.

Yeah I logged in last night and saw the brackets. I guess I'll hold out hope for the loser bracket.

Thrice 12-14-2009 11:16 PM

How'd you do crash? I was down by 15 and only had Gore left. I think hes gotten me about 15 points total the past 3 weeks. He tore it up with 23 pts and got me the W. Its funny how I also was just on a 3 game losing streak, causing me to miss the playoffs. I guess I rely on my number one pick.

Zarko 12-15-2009 08:37 AM

Haha my league is ****ed. We have IDPs, 3 points for a fumble recovery. Dockett recovers HIS OWN FUMBLE and gets 3 points. Lose by 2.

****ed up BS. Its akin to Warner recoving a fumble and getting 3 points for it.

I won by 50 points. The guy I was playing started Matt Ryan who didn't even play, and didn't start a second receiver.

Andre Johnson and Ray Rice had big days for me, 31 and 27 respectively.

Oh man, its total points from this and last week, and my opponent has a manning 26 pt jump on me. Im puttin my eggs in Brees's basket although this may be a poor choice. I swear, no matter the opponent, Dallas flips a coin pregame and if its heads they will win tails they lose.

debaserr 12-19-2009 01:52 PM

i went into playoffs 12-0-1.

i got 115pts last week, opponent got 111....

a bit scary. this week got started nicely for me though. reggie wayne had 19pts.

I took my dude down, crushed him both games, I think I got about 230 or so total.

Bro it appears that you and I are going to duke it out the next two weeks. Im prob ****ed cuz the Saints could rest Brees.

crash_override 12-22-2009 09:06 AM

Yeah, luckily most of my players are fighting hard for an AFC wild card, so I don't have too much rest to worry about. Except maybe Pierre Thomas. But I'm still pretty stacked at RB without him with Cedric Benson, Ray Rice, and Ricky Williams.

debaserr 12-24-2009 05:23 PM

playing for the title.
