I'm tryna be less lazy, if I keep up my lifestyle the way it is now I'll end up getting fat sooner or later but for now I'm just really skinny. Always have been, 5'5 and 120. Only exercise I really get is skateboarding 20-30minutes a day, maybe 4 days a week and walking my dog about 1.5hours a day. I can't afford to go to a gym right now. I'm also a vegan but am aware of the many protein rich veggies and such.

Just upper body weight???

It is easy though, eat a lot more. Whatever you think is a lot of food, eat more. Try to make it semi healthy. Doesnt have to be all lean chicken and rice but dont pig out on pizza/sweets/thing of that nature (super high in fat/sugar) or else your weight will be all fat.

If you do that while doing pushups/dips/pullups/bodyweight squats you can vastly improve your body. Just look online in places like youtube for bodyweight excersizes and pick ones you think you can do with what you have in your house. If you have trouble finding some I will help you.

I'm built like a frog. I've got a lot strength in muh legs, dunno why. But I guess it couldn't hurt to get in better shape all around.

Agree.

That second point you made, was the first mistake I made when I started (along with not training legs also), put loads of weight on and ended up covered in stretch marks around my armpits/chest, bis, tris and forearms.

WhateverDude, see if you can find a second hand weights bench. You will get them dirt cheap at car boot sales, Gumtree, Craigslist etc. When buying weight plates, don't pay more than a dollar a kilo (could be a dollar per lbs as you're American, we go by a kilo = a Pound Sterling but our currency is stronger, Rez pls confirm if it's a dollar per pound of weight) and don't buy vinyl weights. Only ever heard people complain about them and they take up way too much room for their weight.

A decent bench (provided you have the room) a barbell, two dumbbells and a selection of weights (for example, 4 x 0.5 kg, 4 x 1.25 kg, 4 x 2 kg, 4 x 5 kg, 2 x 10 kg, 2 x 20 kg) should keep you going for well over a year if you're training at home imo.

Would protein supplements help me maintain muscle I have already gained? Along with regular workouts of course.

I unfortunately don't have room for a weight bench at home. Fortunately, I found a gym that's kinda in my area and I can afford it. New years resolutions time.

crossfit

I'm going to start Crossfit from May through August until school starts again, and I'm pretty excited to try it. I've done typical home workouts like bench presses, bar curls, dumbbell curls, pull-ups, and the like. But this should be an entirely different experience! :thumb:

I know so many people that just love crossfit. I talked to a female bartender the other day that just put on 20 lbs. from crossfit. And I am talking muscle. She has no body fat. She is absolutely ripped and not sure how she squeezed 20 lbs. on her little frame. Made me a believer. Been thinking about it but $150/month is a lot of coin.

If you're trying to build muscle just do bodybuilding.

You will be much fitter doing crossfit though.
