Why?

Did you see them attack England fans in the stadium?

Euro 2016: Russia given suspended disqualification penalty & fine - BBC Sport

Racism, violence & launching flares into the England fans. Can't wait for Russia 2018.

Euro 2016: Violence threat 'unites' Wales and England fans - BBC News

Can't see it lasting long but

FranPZ 06-15-2016 07:12 PM

I'm not following Euro2016 too much...at the newscast they talked about violence, but they didn't say that Russia's been disqualified.
But it is a beautiful thing that Wales and England fans are united against violence threats.

It's a suspended disqualification; meaning if they act up inside a stadium again, they are disqualified*. Think of it like a very stern warning or a suspended prison sentence.

*They set a flare off inside the ground earlier btw.

I had thought of posting a new thread dedicated to the football violence as there is so much of it, so many clips and so many incidents to post and unfortunately now it looks like England fans have kicked off.

What are your thoughts on Italy's chances and the Italian squad?

FranPZ 06-15-2016 07:27 PM

I'm an ignorant about soccer, but I can try to give an answer to your question.
I think we have a quite good team...not as good as the one we had at 2006's world cup, but not bad.
We won against Belgium, it's a good start, but it doesn't mean that we'll have good chances also in the next matches.
If I have to say the truth, I think Italy won't go too far.

No worries.

Both of Italy's goals were excellent btw, vs Belgium.

I think Italy can do well though I agree it is an underwhelming squad. But Italy always seem to do well in tournaments. Same as Germany.

FranPZ 06-15-2016 07:41 PM

We don't always do well in tournaments....but it's not a problem :D
However, it would be nice to see a hypothetical Italy vs Germany match hehehe........ :D

Cuthbert 06-16-2016 09:44 AM

That was unreal. What a fucking football match.

My boy Sturridge

Cuthbert 06-16-2016 02:04 PM

Delighted for Norn Iron!

We're not Brazil, we're Northern Ireland :)

Mojo 06-17-2016 10:03 AM

Im happy with how England have managed their first two matches, but we really did need that late winner yesterday. A 2 point return wouldnt have been good enough. I was happy to see Northern Ireland give themselves a chance of progressing too, and it just wouldnt be the same without a Ronaldo temper tantrum.

Pretty good tournament so far!

FranPZ 06-17-2016 01:12 PM

Ederrrrrrrr!!!!

Ronaldo is such a cunt lol.

Sturridge's goal is the best England moment for me since maybe Beckham vs Greece. Imagine being Welsh and seeing that go in :D. I know a Welsh lad who said he was actually reduced to tears because of it :D

Still, I hope they progress. They have a good chance and are decent enough to beat Russia.

I was in tears when England got the winner. good tears. it was an intense match and we didn't give up. which is good to see. I think we will do well. if we can avoid any of the big teams like Spain or Germany Italy France until the semis. which I think if we win our group we will. if we were to get to the final and play France I think we will beat them. I have not been impressed by France at all

Cuthbert 06-20-2016 03:01 PM

So bloody boring.

TheHipHopRecords 06-21-2016 06:24 AM

England are getting too much stick. They have dominated all three games, but find it hard to break teams down

astaesh420 06-21-2016 02:29 PM

I have defended England until last night. the wasted too many good chances and roys line up was wrong. Sturridge is a selfish player who only turns up when he wants to. Vardy missed a great chance. 3 wins in our last 9 tournament games is not good enough. though i think if we get Portugal in the next round we will beat them. and I fancy us against France. i call England the Tottenham of international football. so close yet always so far.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-21-2016 02:45 PM

Croatia with the last minute goal though. Was not expecting that.

He should have just stuck with the team that finished vs Wales. I know it's easy to say that now but six changes, he obviously thought we were going to walk this match. As did I

Our plan B seems to be to put on all our attacking players at once.

Surprisingly I'm not watching this but I've just seen the score.

The big one is on tonight

USA vs Argentina, Copa America semi final

First half was boring, second half things picked up. It was worth it to see how shook up Spain were after the 2nd goal lol

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-22-2016 02:49 PM

Good work Belgium

They actually have a chance to get revenge on France, on their own turf.

I'm very biased. I spent two drunken days in Nice two weeks ago with a bunch of lovely drunken hooligan Irish fans. Some of the nicest animals I've ever met. They made me a fan. I know all their songs now.

Cuthbert 06-22-2016 03:20 PM

Did they say anything about France cheating them out of a place at the World Cup a few years ago?

Goofle 06-22-2016 03:21 PM

Thierry Henry >>>

Nope, actually everybody was very cordial and friendly. This was Northern Ireland though. I'm bunching both teams in the "Irish are awesome" thought process right now.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-25-2016 08:50 AM

Goal of the tournament?

Cuthbert 06-25-2016 08:56 AM

100% yes. Incredible.

****ing hell :D

British derby now. Come on Norn Iron!

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-25-2016 03:32 PM

I don't feel Portugal deserve to advance, but it is what it is. What a strange start to the round it has been.

Goofle 06-25-2016 03:37 PM

Ramsey has been the Player of the Tournament so far.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 06-25-2016 03:42 PM

A touch disappointed with how Lukaku has been playing, thought he would tear up tbh.
