Maradona or Messi?

Diego Armando for me. The most naturally gifted player Ive ever seen. A gift from God.

Opinions?

Messi.

Messi
Maradona
Ronaldo (the Brazilian)

Top three I think.

Ibra

for real though i would say Messi just because I never really got to watch Maradona play. in terms of Messi vs Ronaldo i think they're two different players. would take Ronaldo if I wanted a clinical finisher and one of the best at putting the ball in the back of the net, Messi is the better all around player though and while I wouldn't play Ronaldo anywhere but forward, I think Messi has proven he could be a very efficient midfielder if needed.

Messi is a God amongst men.

I'll cry when he stops playing.

That clip of him the other month beating four players in about one second was unreal, was honestly like he was dancing on water.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 04-06-2017 12:33 PM

he's certainly in a class of his own.

i'm totally biased in my Ronaldo fandom, i'll admit it. i was just starting to really get into footy during his last two years at United, i regret not getting to see him play with them more but whenever I got the chance I remember being absolutely blown away.

it's the same reason why i have such an attachment to Giggsy as well, even if i never saw him during his prime he was still so great to watch.

Never seen anything like a young Cristiano. Remember watching his debut vs Bolton on MOTD. You see him running at that speed and how quick his feet were, stepovers and the white boots and socks, really eye catching player. What a buzz he had.

He has influenced a lot of players imo.

You can pinpoint the game he exploded into a world class player I'd say. It was December 2006 vs Villa. Same game Scholes scored that thunderkunt, first game of a three game run where he scored two goals in each. That was when he became an end product player and goalscorer.

Ronaldo's game has changed so much from those stepover days. He's more a clinical, goal machine now. Comes across as a selfish unlikeable guy though.

One of the things about Maradona is Ive never heard a team mate say they disliked him or didnt enjoy playing with him. No ball was ever treated better than when it was at his left foot.

Cuthbert 04-07-2017 03:26 PM

Unlikeable to team mates maybe. Butboff the pitch I think what you see is what you get. Seems a nice person.

Whereas it's the opposite with Messi. He has this reputation of being some humble, quiet guy but I reckon he's a little shit tbh. Love him as a player though.
