Sax Synth?
Is there any type of equipent that can alter the sound of a saxaphone to make it sound techno-ish? I am hoping for somthing that is gernerally portable, nothing like a computer. Does somthing like this exist?

why would you want to do that? No, unless you ran the mic attached to the saxa phone through pedals or filters.

O.K thanks. Just needed to know.

saxophone synth
The dude who answered your question is wrong. I didn't check the date of your post so i dont know if this will still help or not but I know someone who does this all the time. I don't know what he has or how it works.. in fact i was trying to figure this out when i googled it and stumbled upon this forum. Anyways here is proof;..it wont let me put the URL in, but go to Youtube and search Maxophone. there should be a bunch of videos of him, playing his synth saxophone there are some others that arent him playin his sax... but he is pretty sick... anyways there is the proof it is possible

sorry be sure to google Maxaphone... not maxophone (two a's)

Honestly, I'd just buy a saxaphone. Since, part of the instrument involves the various of air pressures, which transition notes to note. I'm sure you could find a synth that sounds like a sax but when you play it, it'll sound like nothing more than a sound fonted midi, even if the recorded sample is good.
I would, however, look into midi controllers, and laptops if you want things that sound like things. With a good sampler VST, and VSTs of the direct variety, you'd be surprised what you can get. |
