Whats your favorite bass effect?

What is the best bass effect in the book? i need to know for my progressive side project. im personnally a fan of bass wah pedals. :bringit: :jailed:

i've never seen one but i know billy shean gets the same effect as a wah pedal out of his bass without the wah pedal. explain that one :S

i have no idea, i know theres some effects in musicians friend including wah and overdrive. what are your thoughts on bass overdrive?

littleknowitall 05-06-2006 01:52 PM

heh, what like gain? ofcourse, use it all the time, or are we talking about something entirely different?

fenderjazzforever 05-10-2006 12:16 PM

yes like gain, i heard about this overdrive pedal in musicians friend thats supposably really good, but want i really want is a bass processor with many effects.

littleknowitall 05-10-2006 02:11 PM

i dont see much point in an overdrive pedal for a bass to be honest, just buy a nice amp and it really wouldn't make much difference anyways. go for some nice effects pedal instead...

I think the billy shean fx may be an envelope filter

I've always liked flangers and wahs. And a good overdrive/distortion never hurts.

I tried this one pedal called a discomBOBulator. It sounded ****in' sweet, but I didn't have much use for it at the time, so I didn't get it. Now I'm broke, so I can't get it.

I always thought this process of effects generated some interesting sound:

Bass > Amp > FX send > distortion set low > LFO controlled cutoff/res filter > light flange > whammy pedal > awesome.
