Splitting music

Hello Friends!

I want to ask if there is any software which can split any given music file into separate layers – the distinctive sound channels that are present in the song – e.g. Bass, Guitar, Drums, etc. That would be a great way to study the individual song patterns of other musicians.

Thanking for any input,

Dima

Hmmm, I used to wonder about that myself, but I don't think it's possible. So I use Guitar Pro for that kind of thing.

It's not possible. The sound frequencies and such of all the instruments overlap too much to allow for isolation of just one element.

Yes, if there is such a thing it would be a very complicated program, and would be imperfect at best.
