Laptop Studio

Hi there everyone,

I am in desperate need of help to record music on my HP HDX 16 laptop. I just moved to the island of Bonaire in the Caribbean Sea and All I have is my latop and a condenser mic. I am planning to build a studio booth but i do not know how to record properly! I am open to all suggestions/forms of setup. I don't have such a great budget. $200 to $1000. I've recorded before on a desktop compuer. beringer mixer and a mic and it all worked out fine. I use Acid Pro 6 or Pro Tools...

I would appreciate anyone letting me know the knowledge you got on this!!!

Thanks

~Nath Chong

Aren't you contradicting yourself? Or is it that it's the recording booth you need help setting up rather than using the hardware/software with the laptop?

I do, he just wants to boast about moving to the Caribbean. :)

Natch... exactly what microphone is it? Because if it's a standard condenser, it needs phantom power and you're not going to get that from a laptop.

I suggest you start searching for some resources and get the basic ideas down.
A good place to start is Tweak's Guide to the Home and Project Studio

Get a little mixer, for starters, at least for the canon inputs.
