Default I would like to set up a basic recording/mixing environment

I would like to use the PC for recording but I would like to mix outside of the PC as I like to physically move things and not have everything done with a mouse as you cannot do more than one thing at a time.

Can some of you recommend me some good equipment that isn't too expensive but does the job. Mixers, effect units.. also sound modules, groove boxes etc

I will be using a Roland SP 606 for making beats/loops and not rely on acid and a keyboard anymore.. although I still have to buy this so if you have anymore recomendations I would be glad. Playing bass and guitar and then using the SP 606 to groove it about or leave it as it is..

I just want to solid, efficent and creative place rather than a plug in waste land

Question

Good equipment is expensive, what is you budget? What kind of music you want to make??

Why using the mouse is so bad?

Are you going to make live mixes?
