Specs needed for music recording/production?

I'm currently looking into getting a new computer. The place I'm getting it built at offers these options:

The question is, what would be suitable for recording, editing, production and stuff like that? Which one would you recommend for a person that wants to take a more serious step in recording and production? My old computer allowed me to record and get into things a bit, but I couldn't go any farther then that. It doesn't need to be anything ridiculously expensive, it just needs to cover all of the bases so I can get the experience I need. How far do I need to go to achieve this? It needs to be something that will last me awhile, through the rest of high school and college.

Plus, is there anything else I would need added on, either now, or in the future?

Just make sure you get an audio interface and probably a midi keyboard, look up the M-Audio fast track pro. Some nice monitors (speakers) would be a good investment, you're better off going with a less spec'd up comp and some nice monitors than you are going for a **** hot comp and crappy speakers.
