Default Tape Op (magazine)

Anyone get it?

It calls itself 'the creative music recording magazine'. It's mostly interviews with producers and engineers and the like, with some gear reviews and a few album reviews, It's nice to have a recording magazine more about the people than the gear (I'm looking at you SOS). Oh, it also offers a free subscription, well worth getting if you're interested in production and recording.

the interview with Oz Fritz not long ago was revelational ... (anyone having magical battles shall be barred from the studio) ... there's usually something interesting in it

I've not actually read that one yet, but I have that issue next to me, I've been re-reading the Stephen Street one as I'm probably doing my next uni assignment on him, but the standard of interviews in there far surpasses other stuff I've read/watched before, some website our lecturer told us to use for this assignment (recordproduction.com) has an interview with Stephen street on it, and it's just really awful.

Yeah, I usually enjoy the interviews even if I'm not especially interested in the subject ... the new one also read my mind as I'd been thinking a few days prior of learning to make contact mics and there was a whole page about it in there ... I'm gonna mic up my washing machine, maybe throw some pebbles in the dryer for percussion
