Good idea?
 

I was wondering if hooking my electric violin to my guitar amp is a good idea or no. Thats probably a stupid question but i had heard somewhere that doing that with an electric base would burn the amp up.

It would work fine. It may give you a different sound but if you like it thats all up to you. A bass should really never be played in a guitar amp just because there not build to withstand the lows a bass has, therefore probably busting your speaker. Technically you could but I wouldn't recommend it.

Yes, you shouldn't have issues with a violin on a guitar amp.

Might want to be careful at first. Turn down the volume, turn off any effects, etc etc. Start quiet, see what it does. I imagine that feedback might work differently, watch out for that.

Well, id wana make sure before trying anything that your not gona blow your speaker or break your amp. But the sentiment is great!

You'd say an electric violin gives the same output level as a guitar/microphone.
Your amp should be just fine :)
