So are usb mics genereally worse quality? Here's a USB mic I foudn that doesn't seem too bad and it is the same price as other Condensor mics I have seen.

Amazon.com: Samson CO1U USB Condenser Microphone: Musical Instruments

here's a condenser mic for about the same amount. what are thr pros and cons? How do I hook a condensor mic up to my computer?

Blue Microphones Yeti Professional USB Microphone - Tri-Capsule Array,

Condenser mics are usually hooked up through a pre-amp and into a FireWire port. I'll let someone more knowledgeable answer your question about the quality difference.

I own the Blue Yeti Mic. As far as low priced all around recording mics go USB or not its ****ing amazing. I can record pretty much anything except drums quite well with near studio quality.

I strongly recommend it if you need a general recording mic that super easy to use and affordable.

I want to be able to record drums though. Me and my friends are starting a band, nothing serious and just wanna be able to record some decent songs. You know, just like guitar, bass, drums.

Well its really not the mics fault. you really want a minimum of 3 mics to proper get the sound of a full kit. If you had 3 of these then you would be set.

I'm not really looking for a clean marketable sound, it doesn't really matter to me just as long as it doesn't sound completely terrible.

You would be fine then. As long as your drummer isnt the hardest hitting metal drummer its ok. Just dont expect cd quality recording.
