Sure, no prob.
Should you decide to buy one, please turn to me for advise.
There's a lot to watch out for. It's old gear, altough the Tascam 32 has been made up to 1998 or something like that. Relatively modern.
There's on on the picture by the way, the black one :).
Wasn't part of the deal by the way. Marc (the guy next to my car and behind the pile o' old stuff) bought it for an impossible 90 bucks. Lucky bastard.

Will do. I definitely know who to consult here regarding these things. I'm not very hip to any magnetic technology that isn't a harddrive. :D

I've just always wanted a tape recorder that wasn't a cassette recorder, and have been curious as of late. :)

I don't know the prices there, but you can have a great machine for a small amount of money here. A Teac A-3300SX 2T is very nice too by the way.
Don't underestimate cassettes: They CAN (!) sound very good, provided you have a good recorder and good tapes, but interchangeability is always a problem with cassettes for some reason.

Spent the entire afternoon so far (3pm now) fine-tuning this cassette deck:

It's a Yamaha KX-500 and it's working brilliantly now.
Recording levels, VU's, head azimuth, speed. Nothing was where it was supposed to be.
Took me some time, but it's good as new now :).
Not bad for 7 dollars.

1000 (!!!) tapes.
Not just for me, I bought them for my own forum.
I have 160 of them myself. Which is... A LOT.

Went to some yarsales. I was looking for a nice cassette deck. Most of my decks had some problems and I sold them to a vintage audio dealer. I didn't feel like repairing them right now. I only had a Sony, a Yamaha and a Denon left and both the Sony and the Yamaha need some looking after. So it was the Denon I was using but I really wanted something with three heads. Preferrably a more expensive Denon... And guess what I found, for about 15 dollars, a very nice three heads denon, the more expensive version of the one I already have (with a drawer to put the cassette in, very sexy).
It works brilliantly. Love it!

I bought a pinnacle TV card on one of the yardsales

This being pinnacle, it took some time before it cooperated. But here you go:

I just got a Yeti Blue Microphone and M-Audio Fast Track audio interface. Together I can record the **** out of pretty much anything except drums ( i can just not studio quality). Recording today is soooo easy, god bless technology.

I only record using mic to amp though, I hate I REPEAT HATE recording straight through the computer. Even on the rare occasion it sounds as good I feel like im cheating.

I've been looking at the Yeti mic for about a year now, not sure if I wanna buy it just yet. Satisfied?

I used a Blue - Snowball mic for a while, it was pretty excellent but i haven't heard of anyone using the new Yeti yet.
