I'll tell you what man, I don't mind reading up on how to use a program. I just want there to be something to read, so if you know of a good program that I can install on my macbook that has useful instructions then I'm all set.
I realize that there's a huge learning curve, I mean its a whole new kind of instrument. I play the violin which is completely different from an electronic instrument, I'm gonna need to read up on it for a while.

It wouldn't be "legit". But I definitely know that getting a working copy of the program with no fuss is pretty easy. PM me for "suggestions".

Well I gave up and just started using garageband. I actually like it better since it makes it simple and I am able to record my own samples with just the push of a button. Here's a sample of what I'm doing thus far. I've messed around with it enough that I'm pretty sure that I can pull it off live even though garageband is complete garbage as far as a live preformance is concerned. Tell me what you think.

Hey, just been looking over this thread, I know the feeling of wanting to do some live electronic music, I've seen guys like Four Tet do it and it's always seemed like something I've wanted to do.

That was some experimental song you just made there though! Were most of them your own samples you say? What kind of music are you hoping to make or do? If you're new to music production then I reckon garageband is a good place to start in order to get to grips with things like effects and stuff but like you say, it's not really for live performance.

Also, so you don't have to make a video to upload to Youtube, a good site to host your music if you don't know about it already that is, is Soundcloud. 2 hours of music for free accounts, it's a very handy site.
