electronic music

Hello,

I have been listening to electronic music since I was about 13 years old. I figured its time to create electro music. I grew up in Los Angeles in the 90's and rave ditching parties were the thing to do. I was introduced early to techno, house, early electronic music like Underworld, Orbital, Juan Atkins, Paul Okenfold and so on. I was also into soul, rock and hip hop. I moved out to a small town in Michigan called grand rapids its in betwween the electronic music capitals of the world in my opinion Chicago and Detroit. I eventually moved out to Chicago and would club at least four nights a week.

Anyways, with that said and done and over 15 years of being in rock bands and recording a few albums and spending many hours in studios. Can somebody give me some ideas of the top of the line synthezizers keyboards, drum machines, and software being used by these trance, house, techno artists. As you can tell I have more of a rock band background than anything...

Your responses would be appreciated.
