Home recording

Hey guys. Have any of you ever tried a little home recording? If you've thought about it but don't know where to start I recommend the sequencer program Kristal Audio Engine (http://www.kreatives.org/kristal/).

This allows you to record multiple tracks (up to 16) and mix them, all in the program itself, and is so simple to use!

And best of all it is absolutely free!!

Anyway I just had to share this with you all because I have found it imensly helpful!

Enjoy!

ive tried a number of programs including audacity and n-track studio (download.com) and they're alright but i'll check this one out too....

n-track is supposed to be very good, some prefessionals are said to have used it - but I couldn't get to grips with it. Everything is just so simple to use in KAE it hurts!

ive got pro tools ran though an m box and a 16 channel behringer eurorack. its studio quality and weve done a couple bands up here. the key... mics. sm 57s are what you need for all drums. for cymbals you need phantom powered condenser mics set up around the room(normally 2) and maybe a bass drum mic. guitar you can run DI or mic it if you have a good setup. we run guitar and bass DI through a V amp rack model. sometimes we mic our orange fullstack because its an orange fullstack. if anyone has specific questions, i can be of some help.

What's your opinion on the V-amp rack. That's Behringer, right? ( I know, I'm an inquisitive little f**ker)

please note the subject was HOMErecording!

But hey I don't mind - we all have to aspire to something!

ehh, live its not that good. sounds to boxy and the distortions are not true. even the bypass isnt a true bypass, but for recording it isnt bad.

and this is all out of my home, which is why i felt it to be relevant to HOME recording.
