Question Is this a decent setup for a keyboard player in a band?

Lately I've been toying around with my new Akai LPK25 midi controller. After a few days of practise, I think I want to show it to the guys in the band.

I'm using the LPK25 with a Toshiba Satellite C855D - 16J(running Ableton for different pad effects).

If I used a jack to jack Cable with a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter(one end in the laptop, the 6.5mm in a DI box) and then used an XLR-XLR cable to plug into the mixing desk, would the sound be okay? I've tried it with my old (terrible) speakers and theres a slight crackling sound if the volumes too high(I assume thats because the speakers are old) and it's worked fine.

I'm confident, but I just want to get the heads up from someone with more experience than me.

Thanks for any help.
