Looking for an iPhone music player app that does something very simple

It amazes me that the default app doesn't do this, but I'd like a music player that simply plays the next album when the album I was listening to has finished. Does anyone know of an app that does this?

See if double twist is available in the app store

It isn't. After some googling it looks like it might be only available for Android.

Hi, sorry for replying to an inactive thread, but I think I know of an app that might solve your problem. It's called Smart Shuffle, and while its primary function is to bring back the album shuffle function, it can also be used to create a custom list of albums to be played in succession, either in chronological or randomized order. But I also suppose you could use the default music app to create a playlist with the albums you want to play in succession. (I suppose you know that when creating/editing a playlist in the music app, you can go to the albums page, go into any album and click the "Add all songs" button to add the album at the bottom of the list you're editing.) But Smart Shuffle is definitely great if you should want to play whole albums in random succession.

Thanks for replying! I'll have to check out that app.

As far as the idea of creating a playlist in the regular music app goes, unfortunately that wouldn't really work for my situation since it's not particular albums I want to play in succession, but rather everything that I happen to have on my phone that I would like to basically "play all" with.

I am curious about this "Add all songs" button you're talking about though. I can't seem to find it anywhere in the native music player. I'm only able to add songs one at a time.

Oh well, I have only seen the "Add all songs" function on my iPod Touch so of course I'm not 100% sure that it exists on iPhone as well, but I can't see why it shouldn't...

There is also a similar function at the very top of the albums page when you're editing a playlist. Selecting this will add everything you have to the playlist grouped in albums.

Also, in Smart Shuffle when you're selecting albums to be shuffled there's a "Select All" button which will put all the albums up for shuffling. Unfortunately, there's no way of putting those albums in chronological/alphabetical order, so I think that the "Add all songs" function at the top of the albums page in the default music app is the best option for you.
But if this function is non-existent on iPhone, that's of course odd...

Ok, that bit wasn't completely true... :shycouch:

I'm still not seeing it. If I go to a playlist and hit "edit" then go to albums, the only buttons I have at the top are "Store" and "Now Playing". If I click on an album, the only buttons I have at the top are "Albums" and "Now Playing". Am I going to the wrong place or something?

Oh, I didn't mean the buttons at the bar that says for example "Albums" when you're on the albums screen, but at the very top of the albums list itself it says "Add all songs" over the A's (You might need to scroll upwards)

I'm attaching a screenshot of how this looks on my iPod touch
(Please don't comment on my oddball musical taste )
"Legg til alle sanger" is Norwegian for "Add all songs", and as you can see, the button in the top right corner says "Ferdig", which means "Done". So if it is true that the same button says "Now Playing" when you're editing a playlist, there are obviously some differences between iPhone and iPod Touch in this respect.

Yeah, mine looks totally different. It looks like you're in iOS6 and I'm using iOS7 so maybe it's a feature they got rid of in the new version (the "upgrades" they made to the music player mostly feel like downgrades I have to say). Or it could just be that you get more features on an iPod than on an iPhone. But thank you very much for your help! :)

Hey, I like Astor Piazzolla too! In fact I had the album he did with Gary Burton and the album he did with Kronos Quartet on my phone very recently. :)
