I once jammed with a friend and we accidentally made dubstep.
I had fits of hysterical laughter throughout, since it was so ridiculously easy and primitive, but sounded pretty cool and authentic.

Not to knock the genre though, it's somewhat stupid, but at times fun to dance to.
Try FL Studio, it's easy to learn and pretty good for any genre of electronic music.

I was going to suggest FL studio. The main thing to do is to try to learn how to emulate the wubbing sound through Sytrus. Other instruments can replicate it but learning how to use the FM function, the Vocodex and make it sound authentic is hard. Viable and rewarding but hard.

I know that many EDM producers use Ableton Live. I dont know why. Some of them use Cubase and FL Studio but most of the edm guys use ableton. Its simple and effective.

Most of hip hop producers use Fl studio :)
