Cool Guitars

well everyone talk about what guitar they have or what kind of guitar they would like to have

I have a sunburst LEFTY american fender stratocaster.

jibber 05-17-2004 10:48 PM

nice, how much did that cost you? i have a strat, just spent $425 on a behringer blue devil model amp. what kind of amp do you have?

xcollapseofmyheartx 05-17-2004 10:49 PM

my strat was $1,200. and i have some sh!tty little crate. i never use it im getting an acoustic next because i never use my amp.

jibber 05-17-2004 10:57 PM

damn, 1200, nice chunk of cash right there. what kind of accoustic are you looking into? i love my amp, 100 built in effects, and i got a distortion pedal at the same time, soooo much fun.

xcollapseofmyheartx 05-17-2004 11:00 PM

i dont know. my guitar teacher suggested a martin but those are too expensive i just need something to start off on. i was looking at ovations but those are acoustic electric and im not getting one of those.

Brokenbutsmiling 05-18-2004 08:46 AM

Alright, here it goes. I'm primarily a bassist, I've got a nice cheap excel p-bass, a very nice Rogue accoustic/electric, and a 1968 Fender. As far as guitars go, I've got a Johnson strat ripoff (only cost 80$ lol) and a 1977 Gibson accoustic. I love my gibson, it's really nice. I want a les paul now.

Thrice 05-18-2004 11:13 AM

I gotta chea ass fender strat...but i put more money into pedals and my amp...

jibber 05-18-2004 05:34 PM

^ 1977 gibson! holy crap i want it. i've been looking into a les paul, haven't gone too far into it though cause if i start looking at different models i'll be too tempted to blow all my money :p

Brokenbutsmiling 05-19-2004 08:56 AM

Haha, I know how you feel. I saw one at guitar center for 580$. A real Gibson les paul. I almost bought it, but I can't afford that in any way.

Eltiraaz 05-19-2004 02:38 PM

My friend has a cherry red 1968 gibson bass.. I think hes a bloody idiot for buying it but hey.

I have a really ****ty strat knockoff right now, but I'm going to get a les paul pretty soon. I have a basic yahama acoustic too but its so beat up i just use it for acoustic songs and stuff. One day i want a black matte gibson acoustic.

as for amp's i have a 50watt but its old

xcollapseofmyheartx 05-21-2004 07:58 AM

squire?

xcollapseofmyheartx 05-21-2004 07:58 AM

my friend is frikin obsessed with those. he thinks they look cool. he doesnt even look at guitars in any other way. he wants them to look cool and thats it.

Do it before we drown 04-29-2006 06:30 PM

im getting the ibanez starter pack then going up to either a fender standard telecaster in wine red or an LTD viper, orrrrrrrr a jackson warrior.

basses-i have an epiphone eb-o(SG body) but want either an Ibanez or Ernie Ball SUB with an Ampeg half stack, but i have a Behringer 120 watt combo that pumps out some power at the moment.

i do have an acoustic guitar, a rogue(it plays better) and only for 60 bux. a steal. but I want a Takamine. they're my dream acoustic company.

tdoc210 04-29-2006 06:33 PM

i have an (modded) eric clapton model strat
modded cause we had it customized wit a humbucker and a floyd rose whammy bar thing

swim 04-29-2006 06:36 PM

ouh ah, i have a peavey predator exp plus, er, which means i have a floyd, i love the fine tuning.

Laces Out Dan! 04-29-2006 06:39 PM

I've got a Epiphone Les Paul studio and im content right now

ithinkmybabyisacommunist 05-04-2006 09:33 AM

i just ordered a CUSTOM ESP Viper Lefty

scout_75 05-11-2006 04:23 PM

I play Bass, but my husband plays guitar. I will tell you there is no sweeter sound than him playing his Les Paul with his Marshall. He has 12 guitars (all different kinds/brands) and nothing sounds as good as this set up.

Macstevey 05-19-2006 11:14 AM

A Les paul through a marshall goes together like fish and chips

Raine 05-21-2006 10:51 AM

I've got a Fender telecaster it's blue and SE Standard Paul Reed Smith for 500 smackers.
Nowadays i usually use a roland amp or fender. doesn't really matter.
I have a Stu Hamm urge Bass (Fender) It's blue and white and. . . not much else to it.

Peace out . .

Reznorslave 05-21-2006 11:02 AM

I've got a Gibson Flying V Goth model, satin black with pearl moon and star fret inlays and a very fast neck. It's a beaut!

Raine 05-21-2006 12:06 PM

Corvette Standard 22 in black by Paul reed Smith. One of the sexiest guitars ever.
That and a Johnny Hiland in Whale Blue by Paul reed Smith.

I've got a thing for Paul reed Smith guitars.

Peace

*ahem* i hope that wasn't directed to me, i've played more gigs than you've had shits sunshine. :D
i worked up to that guitar over the 8 years over lessons between the 4 guitar teachers and that, i didn't pop out at birth and have my gibson thrown at me.
...and you can't judge a single soul on here, unless you've travelled the u.s and europe scouting them out and listening to them play.

ArtistInTheAmbulance 06-02-2006 10:22 AM

i think he was just commenting at kids in general.
the guitar is blatantly just a fashion accessory a lot of the time.
no need to assume youre being insulted moley..

mosesandtherubberducky 06-02-2006 11:15 AM

I've got a Schecter Hellcat (one of the older types) and a discontinued Ibanez SA160QM both are really good but I'm more proud of my amp and small pedal board.

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 06-02-2006 12:20 PM

^My other guitar is a Squier. I plays like crap right now because I'm SO METAL that I put fatty grooves in the frets and its got horrible buzz. Other than that though.........It probably pwns your Schecter too.

oh....and my next guitar........which I'm getting from my uncle in a few weeks.....

ArtistInTheAmbulance got it right.

Someone said to me once "A good guitarist will make a crap guitar sound good, but if your a terrible player, an expensive guitar won't save you"

But... I think a good guitarist deserves a good guitar, just to squeeze out that extra potential sound.

Its ok and cool to talk about what guitars we have, I just think playing it is what really counts, I have a Yamaha ERG and that has a a metal pickup setup, 2 humbuckers, 1 single coil - And it does its job very nicely, perfect guitar for rock and metal.

In due course though, I will get myself a better more expensive guitar no doubt, then it will be upgrades after that.

littleknowitall 06-02-2006 01:35 PM

oh sorry, i was glancing over what you said earlier and i thought you we're implicating that i was a spoilt beginner who didn't deserve a decent guitar....you weren't were you?

No of course I wasn't, I think its best if all beginners get themself a basic guitar to begin with, then if they are good enough and are serious about playing they should find one with a voice that the player likes.

There are alot of MTV kids about now, perhaps mostly stereotyped as emos - Most of those kiddys have guitars but cannot play them, same with rich kids -they have a guitar just because its cool to have one.

I can happily play on any guitar, but like I said earlier its nice to have a more unique one with your voice.

Keep up the guitar playing:wavey:

here's a kid in my school who can't play a chord but has the same gibson as me.:bringit:

Alo 06-04-2006 04:07 AM

I have been trying to play for about two years. And I still suck, and my guitar is even worse than me... But I like playing, calms me down, or gets me excited, eventhough the sound coming out is horrible.

Winter 06-04-2006 11:17 AM

moley - That would piss me right off, feel for you.

Alo - Doesn't matter what your playing is like, if you enjoy keep at it, theres no reason why you should quit.:)
