So you all remember my quest for a new guitar?

about 5 or six months ago, i was in search of a guitar to replace a failing squier strat that i started on. i had a few choices and ended up with this ibanez, which i loved the first time i played it:

well, due to a constant tremolo problem with the ibanez...(that i now have learned, might not have been a problem at all....but a problem with the way i was tuning it) i decided to see what i could get on a trade in. they gave me 200 dollars for it, only half of the 400 i paid for it. while i was at the guitar shop, i was playing a schecter, and liking it. then my friend came over to me with a saphire blue american made ESP custom shop Horizon. i played it and loved it. it was marked at $800 dollars, but when i asked how low they could give it to me for, they said $480. a total steal seeing as this guitar is easily worth $1500. if not more.

^inside that circle it says "ESP Custom Guitars"

i was excited to buy it. but now i feel almost guilty because i worked so hard to get tha ibanez.

sweet new guitar though, dont you think?

your thoughts?

That looks sweet! I really don't like ESP guitars but that one is one that appeals to me.

But shame for not getting the schecter. I have a schecter and they are great guitars. But mine is as heavy as a fat person so it is a bitch to play while standing up for long periods of time.

the esp is actually one of the best playing guitars ive ever held. it plays better than some fenders and even gibsons that ive played.

its not too heavy, although my ibanez was pretty heavy. it gave me a sore back when my band would practice for really long periods of time.

the schecter was a pretty nice guitar. it played very smooth, the only thing i didnt like about it was that it didnt quite feel like i could play it very fast without minimal mistakes. it may have been the action that created that feeling, but i dont know..it just wasnt quite as good as the esp.

I love ESPs :band:
You've got a cool guitar.

I have a Schecter C-1, and it's incredible. I love everything about it. Great guitar.

As for Ibanez, it's relly varied for me. I've played some that I like, and some that I hate.

ESP's are good too, they just seem a little pricey from my experience.

that one only cost me 300 with the trade of my ibanez.

i liked the ibanez a lot but the esp is just so sweet. my friend and i were at guitar center today playing guitars because he's looking to get a new one when his birthday rolls around. he played this 400 dollar ibanez that he said plays better than his 1000 dollar stratocaster. it played really well. i was playing a schecter C-1 (coincidentally) and it was really awsome. it had kind of a punchy tone, and pretty good playability. the only thing i would change is the action. it was a wee bit high for my taste. the neck was insanely fast for a guitar that price.
