Buying a Guitar (disregard other thread)

If it would be possible, could you delete the other thread... it failed miserably and I don't want a Fender anymore.

To be honest, I need a guitar that can go from Blues to Mathcore (Mathcore for stage, Blues for fun)... and won't break or fail.

I have been looking into some Schecter and Godin models, however I would need some more information than a 5-minute noodling session could ever tell me.

Basically I need a decent model (no budget copies, or overpriced pay-for-the-name-guitars) that plays and looks good (I will have to a. play it and b. look at it, y'know). Keep it within the 1k range (that should be no problem). Any brand is ok... but I hate how Ibanez necks look (at least the lolbr00tal ones), and try and avoid Gibson owned companies.

I will check out all the models you recommend, and I will personally suck you off if you pick a winner (or just put you in some random 'thank you' section of an album)

Wow... I guess good/reasonably-priced guitars don't exist then.

If you could just point me in the right direction though... >_>

I have been looking into some Epi elitist Les Pauls, and they seem like they work. However, the cheaper Schecters (high-end Schecters, but cheaper than the high-end Epis) also fit the bill.

I'm thinking either the:
Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR Electric Guitar and more Solid Body / Six String at GuitarCenter.com.
Schecter C-1 Blackjack Electric Guitar and more Solid Body / Six String at GuitarCenter.com.
Epiphone Elitist Les Paul Standard Plus Electric Guitar and more Solid Body / Six String at GuitarCenter.com.
or
Epiphone Elitist Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar and more Solid Body / Six String at GuitarCenter.com.

Any personal insight on lasting use, and other things?

I play a Fender strat with a mini-humbucker in the neck and bridge positions. I also have a Les Paul 1960 reissue. I find that between these two guitars I have all the tones I need.

The Schecters are good guitars, I used to have a couple but they were just making the sounds of the Fender or Gibson so I got rid of them.

I also have an Epiphone Sheraton but it basically sounds like a noisy Les Paul.

When I check out a new guitar, I like to play it without an amp at first. If it sustains well then I plug it up. This practice hasnt failed me yet. Good Luck it sounds like you already know what you want so get whatever feels good.

Stratocaster Ftw!!!

Edit: wait you dont want a fender??? well why the **** not... they have the best all around sound and it can give you just about any noise.. Its rather hard to find a gibson thats good for overall use..

Strats are nice, but there are better guitars for experimentation.

I will definitely get one later in life though.
