QUESTION: Learning Curve (doors, amp, songs, guitar)

I have recently started playing guitar, and the learning curve (just to clarify with my semantics: the time it takes for me to actually become comfortable playing) is pissing me off.

Anyone have any advice (besides drugs) as to how I could stay focused? Guitar is one of the only instruments whose sound I actually find pleasing, so I want to play.

find a song you like.. that you has fast, slow, hard, and easy parts... so you can grow into it.. then you can play a song you love and never get bored.. i usualyl just lock the doors and turn of the cell phone with the amp REALLY LOUD to stay focused..

do what zeppelin advised or take lessons.

they might be (really) boring but well worth it

Just start off with some simple three or four chord songs & strum a bit, sing along. It might seem boring at first but at least you can start getting a feel for it.

Once you can get a few simple songs under your belt that way, then you can start wandering out a bit more & experimenting...

Electric is easier to start with rather than acoustic, unless you like pain.
