Keyboard Software?

I'm looking to buy a keyboard that I can hook up to my computer so that I can play without anyone hearing, if need be (to avoid bothering people). I believe that all I need is a keyboard that has a USB connection or a MIDI keyboard? Does anyone have any suggestions for a keyboard, that's at least 66 keys that's not too expensive but still is worth its price?

Also, will I need a program if all I want to do is play? And if I do need one, which program do you recommend I get?

Thanks to all!

You will need a program, though a lot of the USB keyboards will probably come with one. I would look for an M-Audio Keyboard, they've got pretty much everything you need and are pretty cheap. As for programs, anything like Cubase, Reason, or Cakewalk would probably be more than sufficient.
