Guitar finish repair

I have a '72 telecaster RI that has a small chip in the finish. I know it's not really a big deal but, it's bugging the **** out of me. Any ideas on how to repair it?

The exact same thing happened to my brother and I remember him going through a lengthy process to get it fixed - but he eventually got there! As far as I can remember he filled the chip with minwax poly (google it and check out the website). He filled it in with a colour that exactly matched - so in your case it would be black, easy. After the fill had completely dried and hardened he polished the crap out of it until it shined like the rest of the surface. I'm not sure if he put something else on it to make it shine and match the original surface. But it looks much better now than it did. BUT I would perhaps go to an official repairer to see what they think before starting.

Finally I get a response... I'll try using minwax poly, atleast it's better then using sharpie.

Hope it works or at least makes it a little better! :-S
