Good answer MR. Dave^^

Have you got a model in mind?

Asif, try doing a google search for any particular model you're interested in, and read some reviews.
It helps.

i suppose i was a little snarky there but whatever haha it's the truth. if the model comes with SDs by default it's likely not entry level and just fine for anyone looking to play heavy music.

personally i'm not a huge fan of dean guitars mainly because i'm not a fan of pointy guitars. they just don't seem comfortable to me and they weigh a ton. although i did spot this beauty on their site, too bad it retails for about $3000 :(

it's the 'exotic USA hardtail walnut', bit of a goofy name for a glorious looking guitar but whatever hehehe

I'd like to throw myself into this thread just to say that I have never been greatly enamoured with dean guitars, and that I would reccomend you look at some mid level Ibanez (Which now come with dimarzio's as standard on prestige lines) or some of the mid level LTD lines. Particularly for playing metal.

If you want something more versatile, I think perhaps the Ibanez hollow bodies should be a port of call. They won't do TEH METHUL quite as well, due to their fixed bridges/classic trems, but they're VERY versatile tonally and you should be able to dial in a perfectly good metal tone with them, while retaining the advantages of a hollow bodied clean sound.

...and we never heard from asif again.

considering they misspelled Seymour Duncan i wasn't expecting much.
