Vocal Warmups

Anyone knows some good vocal warmups I should do before singing? I mean I read on the internet...but this way it'll be also better for those who want to know on the forum to read it too.

If you know any vocal warm ups, write it here. Also, write them when should they be performed. I mean, if we have a performance in 3 hours, we should do those vocal warm ups 3 hours before the gig or how?

I usually sing simple arpeggios or scales. Sing them in chromatical order.

Uhm... I don't know when to sing them, but you should be a little warmed up right before you go on. I know that the worst thing to do is warm up or sing too much the night before... Bad experiences...

I sing arpeggios when I warm up. I find it the best and most efficient way. But many vocalists forget that simple breathing exercises are also a great warm-up and great way to practice using your voice. Singing has everything to do with breathing.

Why hasn't this been moved?

Strike one, mods. Strike one.

Well, for a beginning I'm doing 8 - 9 different breathing exercises before I start singing, which takes me around 10 - 15 minutes.
After those 15 minutes of proper breathing techniques, I start the singing warm ups. I have 10 different warm ups to properly warm my voice, from singing scales to singing arpeggios.

Sing some Red Hot Chili Peppers songs, works every time for me.
