*** Classic 60s-90s Synth Sounds ***

Hi Everyone,

This is a subject that irks the heck out of me.

I would LOVE if there were a place - just one spot on the web - where we could all compile our combined knowledge of SPECIFIC keyboard sounds from specific tunes/bands.

I'm not talking about "oh...I think they used the Prophet a lot..." That's not too helpful for someone like me hoping to Nail these sounds with existing VST intrument technology.

When I've tried to search for this, mostly social information comes up about these bands...it's very frustrating.

Basically, the folks that MADE these sounds are out there - getting older and possibly more "has-been-ier" How great would it be if they had a place they could visit and be the HERO that reveals the PRECISE recipe for these sounds we all grew up on and loved.

Just my fantasy, I know...

I m into loads of synth bands anything with good keyboards in it bands such as the human league japan, soft cell also i reccomend the dvd moog the history of the moog synthesizer it s worth taking a look at particularly if your a rick wakeman fan or kieth emerson fan they both use the same keyboards

Ok...

Maybe we could agree on a consensus of VSTs that would serve as the "Core" of ALL wanted synth patches.

For me, I'd like to nominate...

FM7 - Obviously for the DX7 Family of Sounds
Pro-5x - For Prophet-esque Sounds

Would other folks be willing to help come up with these Core VSTs, and maybe we could eventually build a small Database of settings to achieve specific key patches used in specific tunes.

Just an idea.

I know that there is a Fender Rhodes page dedicated to classic and newer albums that implement the classic sound of the Fender Rhodes electric piano. I have acquired some great albums as a result of it. I think that a search of eg. "Best Moog albums" or something of the sort would yield results for you.
