Ostrich Guitar

Lou Reed is the magic man to create this, its basically tuning your guitar strings all to D

pretty crazy idea but it sounds awesome

Any of you guys know if its still used today?

Paul Gibert has a song called 3 E's for edward, a tribute to Eddie Van Halen that uses an acoustic guitar with only 3 strings, all tuned to E. Similar concept.

I heard of Sonic Youth doing this as well as Glenn Branca's guitar orchestras who Thurston and Lee played with.

Soundgarden used all Es tuned to 3 doubled octaves for Mind Riot back on Badmotorfinger.

My Bloody Valentine also uses weird octave tunings as well, actually they are very much similar to Sonic Youth's and I know that "Soon" (F#F#F#F#C#F#) and the majority of "Bad Moon Rising" (F#F#F#F#E B) use a similar tuning.

Oh I was thinking of EEEEEE. I could have sworn that was ostrich tuning. I knew it was all strings tuned to the same note, I just forgot which note that was
