Trumpet music recommendations?

anything you would say is a piece worth getting? it would be cool to get jazz or rock music, preferrably jazz.

You'll probably find much more jazz selections for the trumpet in terms of sheet music. I don't know what level you play at so I can't really recommend anything.

great, that really helps. anyways, i play in intermediate band in my middle school, but i plan on playing independent stuff from the class. i'm also one of the best in class.

you ever check out Jaga Jazzist?

the trumpet isn't always the lead instrument but it's always present in their music.

Chuck Mangione (pronounced chuck man-JIOE-nee) - "Feels So Good" (it's a flugelhorn piece though)
Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass Band - "Tijuana Taxi", "Spanish Flea", "Third Man Theme", and "Zorba the Greek"
Cake - "Going The Distance"

Jaga Jazzist...I love that band. (I think CA put me onto them a few years back?)

Why limit yourself to Jazz? Listen to some Northern Soul. Full of great horns played by some top notch jazz musicians.

Check out Miles Davis. He normally has a trumpet lead.

Do you plan to continue trumpet past your current grade level? It's a lot of fun, but some pieces get tricky, once you get to college/professional level. (Trumpet is one of my main instruments, btw)

Well, it is really fun and I wish to continue, but I also have to consider that I need braces. All these suggestions are great! I think my brother has a CD of Miles so I can ask him about that and I can see

Well, if you really like trumpet, you can still play trumpet, it just hurts a little at the begining. Now of course, that's up to you and your parents.
