Default Trumpet players

hey just bought a trumpet today at the auction rooms, looks pretty nice, its about 50 years old, im told quite a good one....

also bought some bass guitars, but i should be right with them

I taught myself guitar through the internet, and books, however trumpets different. Any self taught trumpet players, able to point me in a good direction to learning the trumpet, good sites with videos? etc?

I suppose I'm a self-taught trumpet player, although I took formal lessons on the trombone so I had a background in brass instruments and could already get a sound out of it.

There's a series of videos on youtube that seem to cover the basics pretty well, though:

Trumpet is one of my main instruments, and I call tell you this: teaching yourself trumpet is almost impossible. For one, your mouth isn't used to being used to control a pitch. With any brass instrument, you can bend the pitch so much so that you can make any note with just your mouth. You have three valves, but at the very least, 21 notes. My suggestion, GET SOME FORMAL LESSONS! You have to devolpe the muscles around your mouth, and only somebody standing there beside you can make sure you're doing it right. It's not like bass guitar!
