Picking A Drum Set

so quick opinion question seeing as i'm new to all this and relatively new to playing instruments as well. i've played the guitar on and off for a few years and recently just picked it up again. my question is i want to learn to play drums too, just the basics and good enough to jam around eventually, not looking to be anything spectacular on them. i'm in my early twenties, so any recomendations on a beginning drum set?

ive had some friends that wanted to pick up instruments in their 20's and learn them. my advice is just to buy the cheapest and most basic set. if you want to continue with it and start gaining experience, then you could upgrade. unless you have some money to throw around then you could get a better set

i agree with ipsofacto, particularly being that drums are hella expensive. get a four-piece junker. kick. snare. rack tom. floor tom. hi-hats. ride cymbal. that's all you need. throw some towels on it all if you want to deaden your sound til you get better.

then get a rudiment book or find them on the net, and practice.
