'Haunting' scales and horror-theme - what a coinsidence
 

Hey!

As a guitarist for seven years, it wasn't up until now I figured out my first scale for a kind of horror-feel. Amazingly enough, after a couple of runs around the scale, I discovered that this scale is in fact the scale used by Synyster Gates in several of the Avenged Sevenfold tracks. A good example is the guitar duel and the solo in 'Afterlife'. Basically, the scale is like this.

Say what you wanna say, but to me this is quite the big one. I've been playing around looking for that scale for a looong time, and suddenly did by slump.

And by the way; what scale is this anyway?

So; am I the only one to have discovered a scale out of pure coinsidence?

it is a C major scale

The first octave (up to 10 on the E string) is a D-something scale that has the exact same notes as C-major and A-minor, execpt for the fact that the italic note should be there (but it's still that key). The second octave is D minor I THINK... atleast according to google. As you can see, I'm not an expert.
