Default Amp, Head, or guitar pickup problem

Can anyone give me some advice on how to make lower guitar chords standout above higher chords? I mean, with my amp and guitar, if I strum a C power chord and then go to an Em they kind of mix in with each other, and what I want to happen is for the Em to standout more, like for the change to the lower note to be more noticeable.

Is this something configured on the amp/head or guitar pickups?

Look at the pickups. Is the bass side of the pickup further up or down than the treble side?

If so, you can move it closer to the strings using the screw next to it.

If its not, then take pics of the setup and come back to us.

Is the "bass side" the side of the pickup under the E, A and D strings, and is the "treble side" the side of the pickup under the G, B and E strings? Or is what makes the bass and treble sides being closer or further from the fretboard?

The pickups seem mostly level. I will get you a picture of the setup, but I first have to find some batteries for my camera.
