Point being, I play it all.

Keep your elitism to yourself. Who cares if you beat the hell out of a drum set with some mates in a rock band or can play like Ginger? Music is supposed to be fun, and entertaining, whether you are the best or picking up the instrument for the first time.

Some of the best jazz artists (Who are supposed to be the most proficient and technical players about) could never read music. Does that make them bad players? no. Off the to of my head I think it was Blakely and Farmer, not too sure about it though.

Keyboard does not "suck"
also i chose all of the answers (because i can), once you get past music basics it makes it a lot easier to learn other instruments. i'm getting a ukulele will probably take me 2 - 4 days to truly learn for me

Do it! :D I only picked up my bass last year. It's never too late to learn!

I will at some point, it's just learning to read music and all that crap though :(. What was that video of the girl with the Ukulele? I meant to subcribe to her but forgot, she was awesome :)

It's not necessary to read music to play bass. If you're just playing for fun, you can use tabs and such for an easy music-playing experience. If you're looking to become serious you might want to try but I don't know, there are some really good musicians who couldn't read music.

Not sure if you meant this literally but you really don't need to be able to read music to play guitar/bass, especially if it is just for fun and to muck about. I can't read music and can play guitar/bass alright after only a few months of either.
