I play guitar, fiddle and piano. I really want to play more - will start looking into it.

Oh and I have a didgeridoo at home, but suck at it!

Only when played properly.

I got out my clarinet for the first time in around 8 years and was pleased that I could still play every note within the clarinet's range. :) The only problem is I've lost the strength in my embrasure and so my lips get painfully tired after only around 5 minutes of playing. :( I'm going to have to try practicing around 10 minutes a day to work up the muscles again.

I play the violin! :) It's a great instrument. I encourage you to learn soon so you have longer to enjoy playing.

I wish I'd learned to sight-read piano music when I was a child. My household had a nice piano, but I was focusing on clarinet and violin. The piano didn't appeal to me as much, so I never did more than make up my own little piano songs. I never even thought of asking for piano lessons, whereas by the time I was 7 I *knew* I wanted violin lessons.

Now I wish I were able to read piano music rapidly. Luckily, I can read piano music well enough to play Bach's Prelude No. 1 in C major. Since I feel that's one of the most beautiful piano pieces, I don't fret too much about not being able to sight-read more than that! :p:

I can sight read simple pieces perfectly. Obviously complex ones take practice :P. Piano's problem is that it's not particularly a fun instrument to play until you get fairly good at it.

And is violin fun? I mean it sounds nice, but it sounds like it's a lot of fun too.

Hmm...I feel that playing the violin is pleasant and enjoyable, but I wouldn't call it "fun."

Maybe because I've played so long, when I play violin it feels just like an extention of my body, and so playing the violin is nice but I take it for granted. I like that you have to move your bow arm quite vigorously, sometimes with full-body motions. The sound you get matches the motion you make. There's a strong body-instrument connection.

Now electric guitar -- I'd say THAT instrument is truly fun, more of a euphoria fun. Being able to make a tiny motion and create a huge sound is kind of a rush! I'd vote for electric guitar as "most fun instrument."

I'd say second-most fun instrument is the cello.

Third most fun instrument to play: drums.

Fourth most fun: violin.
