Good guitar building videos?

I have been searching and searching for any good guitar building videos online. I have found absolutely nothing!! If anyone knows of any good sites to go to it would be much appreciated,
Caleb

I don't think that kind of knowledgge is available for free

you have to tutor under a luthier

You can learn quite easily, but you'll need to find a lot of the knowledge from trawling blogs and doing your research. Videos do exist but in my experience they're pretty terrible at putting across the actual details of working on such a skilled project.

I recommend the Crimson guitars workshop blog, so you can pick up a lot of what goes into guitar building from there, and move forward looking at the individual skills like Binding, routing, wiring, shielding, fret levelling and crowning, etc. They're all skills in their own right, and you'll need to look at them individually and pull them together yourself.

After that, there are plenty of guitar building forums, but most of what you'll need to learn isn't guitar specific, its just woodworking.

Dan Erlewine makes some wonderful guitar building books by the way, which give you scope to build a project and EXPAND upon Dan's prescribed ideas if need be. They assume some familiarity with woodworking (But so will everything), but they're probably the single best place to start.

Stew MacDonald has sends out an e-mail (and also has back issues) StewMac Trade Secrets! Newsletter that shows how to do repair etc which could help with tricks of the trade. (and in a way it's like advertisement for the tools Stew Mac sells) Dan Erlewine (who GuitarBizzare mentioned) is the Trade Secrets! editor.

And you can find some Stew Mac guitar building/repair videos on youtube.

I should also mention, I'm somewhat well up on guitar design, and can recommend a lot of different solutions to help you in finding whatever tone you want. In a nutshell, if you want advice on what you should put IN your design, as opposed to instructions on how to build it, I'm your man, just tell me how you want the guitar to sound and feel and I can help you pick your specs out.

Thank you guys! I ended up buying a large text book from stewmac, I'm about halfway through, it is so interesting! I'm going to check out those websites you suggested when I am done, I don't want to confuse myself. I'll post some pictures of my first work. I have already started one in the process :)
